it just points to
%MAINWEB%.TWikiGuest
instead of your actual personal topic
people should not be pointed to
Main.TWikiGuest and encouraged to edit it!
These preferences overwrite the __site-level preferences__ in %TWIKIWEB%.%WIKIPREFSTOPIC%, and can be overwritten by __user preferences__ (your personal topic, eg: %MAINWEB%.TWikiGuest in the [[%MAINWEB%.%HOMETOPIC%][%MAINWEB%]] web).
instead of
%MAINWEB%.TWikiGuest
, wouldn´t it be better written as
%WIKIUSERNAME%
?
or even better using
%IF{"context authenticated" ...}%
?
WN
I took webpreferences off the left bar because it is an administrator-oriented topic not a user-oriented one.
"Preferences" in their current form are not relevant to end users.
Preferences from an end-user point of view are what topics they are subscribed to, and the settings that we currently keep on home page.
