Here's the test case i ran to confirm this problem:
- Create a new subweb. I'll call the parent web "Test1" and the subweb "Subweb1".
- Go to WebPreferences of the new subweb and click on
Rename/move/delete web...
.
- Select "Trash" from the dropdown menu.
- As an aside here, it seems that there is no way to move a subweb to a top-level web.
- Click OK. Notice the parent web is now gone.
- Browsing the file directory under Trash web and you'll find "Subweb1" but this will contain the content of the Test1 web and it will include the Subweb1 sub-web.
I tried this process in pattern skin and the problem did not arise. I looked at the
renameweb.nat.tmpl
and
renamewebbase.nat.tmpl
templates but I could not figure out what was going on.
I also notice the comments on the left side in the rename web screen do not seem to list the parent web and subweb names correctly. They display
0
