Great, finally something that just works.
A couple of remarks:
- The position of the "Force new edition" checkbox is awkward, and it pushes the help twisty out of sight. I think it needs to be integrated into the save options.
- I think Help can be without a twisty, as it doesn't interfere with any interface elements
- Help uses
FORMATLIST
which I do not have.
- Abandon and Cancel are too close to Save and Done. One mouseclick off and all changes are gone. Either they need more spacing (together) or moved to the far right.
- I would even go that far to put the Save, Done, Cancel buttons (again) to the bottom. When you have a form on the page it doesn't feel natural you edit the fields and then need to scroll up to the top of the textarea to save the topic.
- I'd prefer to eliminate any scrolling (of the browser window) at all and have a tabbed interface.
- Inserting an image does not work on Safari, gives a js error. The js function uses
IFDEFINEDTHEN
which I do not have.
- Will replace it with standard %IF (done)
- The signature inserts code text. Can this be configured?
- Will make it read a %NATEDIT_SIGNATURE% variable with a sensible default. (done)
- The red background on button rollover can be removed with css. But I see you don't have any css at the moment. Perhaps using an inline style?
- Have a look at
edittoolbar.natedit.tmpl
. Everything is classified, though not documented.

Added some comments. Next release will also have the 'mono' <-> 'propotional' fonts buttons as in
PatternSkin.

Nice improvements. New features:
- I would like to be able to customize the default inserts (h1, h2, link, image etc.).
- Abandon is still close to Save, but could be placed next to Cancel.
- Firefox Mac shows a gap between the tool buttons and the textarea, cause by the floating revision checkbox. To work correctly the checkbox should be first in the html:
%TMPL:DEF{"edittoolbar"}%<div class="natEditToolBar">%TMPL:P{"forcenewrevision"}%%TMPL:P{"texttools"}%%TMPL:P{"headlinetools"}% %TMPL:P{"paragraphtools"}% %TMPL:P{"objecttools"}% %TMPL:P{"edittools"}%%TMPL:P{"exittools"}%%TMPL:P{"helptools"}%</div>%TMPL:END%
Hmm, that doesn't work right on Safari.

I am closing this item before it starts getting a "catch-all". Let's have individual items.
