I normally have
JavaScript disabled for all sites (using the
NoScript extension to Firefox), and would not normally re-enable it for a public Internet wiki site. Currently on ~twiki4 site, if I use the Edit link with
JavaScript disabled, I go into the WYSIWYG editor (or at least I get a long WYSIWYG help page expanded at bottom of page, after the Save button). However, in other respects I seem to be in raw edit mode, which makes sense.
So... If there is some way of not showing the WYSIWYG help when
JavaScript is disabled, that would be preferable.
This may seem like a corner case but quite a lot of people surf using
NoScript these days, since
JavaScript is such a common vector for browser and plugin security exploits. As this
blog post on NoScript points out, sites where people can upload their own content, such as TWiki, are particularly vulnerable.
