I have a fresh installation of Twiki 4.0 on a windows 2000 server running apache 2.0.15. Whenever I add a
CommentPlugin tag (e.g.
), and try to save the page, the server hangs until it eventually times out with a server configuration error. I had noticed this in the beta6 version of Twiki4 as well. Best I could see, the fact that the template comments.tmpl contains the directive "TMPL:INCLUDE{Comments}", seems to cause an infinite loop where it's continuously loading the comments.tmpl file... not sure if this is just a windows issue, which is why I only classify it as low priority below.
I also noticed this behaviour on my Cygwin driven Windows installation of the latest SVN checkout before. Something IS wrong. Guess it's Windows.

It is probably the fact that on Windows file names are case insensitive, so comments.tmpl and Comments.tmpl are the same thing. On Linux, that is not the case, so there would not be the infinite loop.

Yes, that's probably the reason. Nasty. The workaround is to manually rename
CommentsTemplate.txt to
CommentPluginTemplate.txt and change comments.tmpl to INCLUDE{CommentPlugin}
Fixed in SVN 8787 (and uploaded to plugins web)
