Detail

The SEARCH format already supports formfield(name, 20) for hyphenation and formfield(name, 20, ...) for shortening of form field.

This "nobrainer" enhancement adds hyphenation and shortening to FORMFIELD variable:

  • format="$value" - full value
  • format="$value(20, -)" - hyphenated every 20 characters
  • format="$value(20, ...)" - shortened to 20 characters

Same spec like formfield() in FormattedSearch.
