Same as http://develop.twiki.org/~develop/cgi-bin/view/Bugs/Item1990 - lines 278-281 of lib/CPAN/lib/Error.pm have this uncommented code:

    print STDERR "********************************\n";
    print STDERR $err."\n";
    print STDERR "********************************\n";
That thwarts users of web servers that send STDERR to the browser (e.g., SunOne)

i'm not in favour of modifying CPAN libraries we distribute; you should take this up with the CPAN author to publish a new revision

http://search.cpan.org/~uarun/Error-0.15/Error.pm lists Arun Kumar U <u_arunkumar@yahoo.com> as the maintainer.

thanks for the bug report, though. if there are any other stragglers in the twiki core and plugins, we'll be sure to address them (like SP did before--thanks Steffen!)

But that debugging text isn't in the original CPAN module. I assumed that it had been added by a TWiki developer.

ah, i see. sorry about that. wow, modifying CPAN libraries we distribute should not happen!

keeping this bug report, then. should be fixed for 4.0.3

I've been wondering about that for ages. I thought it was something that had been added in a rev of Error.pm. Thanks for spotting it!
