Using htpasswd destroys any email address stored against the user's account.

As a minimum we need to find a good place to warn the admin against this.

Increasing this to urgent. At least for the doc. Because we now have a couple of examples of admins that lost email addresses which can be hard or impossible to recover if you do not have a good backup.
