If you run
...../bin/statistics
or
...../bin/statistics?logdate=200601
from the browser, only the Main web gets updated. Specifying
...../bin/statistics/Webname
works as expected. This is a bug, the doc
TWikiSiteTools#Generating_statistics_manually_b states that all webs are updated if no web is specified (as was the case in Cairo)

Actually, it generates statistics for the current web, and since the default current web is Main, that's what you see.
The reason I changed it to work that way is that statistics generation returns data about what webs and topics are processed and their frequency, even when read access to the web in question is denied (the analysis runs off the log file). This is a security hole. Further, the running user has to have write access to the
WebStatistics topics of the webs in question, so making it process all webs is highly likely to trigger an access control exception. By restricting it to run on named webs only, the hole isn't plugged, but at least it doesn't gape open quite so much.

The documentation needs to be corrected.

Peter is right, because

So re-opening this.

And for the record, here is the content:
On sites that cannot run a cron as the cgi-user, they need to call statistics as a cgi (via cron). In cairo you could call ..../bin/statistics and it updated all webs. In dakar you have to specify each and every web. That is, every time you create a new web you have to remember to also tweak the cron.
