The "WebChangesAlert" documentation indicates that whitespace is permitted prior to the colon that starts the topic name list:

three spaces * [ webname . ] wikiName : topics

However, the WebNotify.pm script does not actually allow whitespace in this location. The notification request either occurs on all topics (if an explicit e-mail address was specified) or none at all (if a WikiName was specified). This script should not be so sensitive to whitespace, particularly when the TWiki documentation includes and encourages whitespace.

It seems to me that a simple "\s*" in WebNotify's regular expressions prior to the colon would resolve this issue.
