As agreed on
TWiki:Codev.EdinburghReleaseMeeting2006x10x30, named sections should be available as a selection criterion for
bin/view
directly.
Unfortunately I'm short of ideas of how to
automate tests for that feature within the current unit test or TestCases web framework, so there's just a manual testcase
I don't know if it would be of any help to use javascript to check for the results?
AC
If so, then I could not figure out how yet. I think it would be easier for testing
including sections, where I can push the inclusion into a named div and then compare the contents of that div with its expected value from another named div. But with a view this would need to use a rather static template (quite unlike pattern skin) to "catch" the actual value, and then some javascript way to identify the expected value. Unlike with includes, it can't be just written to another named div because there isn't any room for other divs!
Anyway, even with javascript you need to open the page in a javascript enabled browser, all javascript can do is to flag "success" in an easily visible way. I'd rather go for running a complete view script in backticks and capture the results if I were to automate that.

Re-opening for two reasons:
- The new parameter isn't documented in TWikiScripts.
- Thanks to TWiki:Plugins.CliRunnerContrib, there's finally a way to automate the tests.

...and closing again after 11972 has arrived. Thanks
