I really want to have no
ALLOWTOPICCHANGE
in the user pages on our intranet. Because I use no text template either the setting is automatically written.
The user page
is configurable through the template
NewUserTemplate. Then why do we have a hard-coded setting in
Register.pm
?

We had this discussion in the past, please lets not start it over again. From an educational perspective, it is not good to lock down homepages, also not a commented out ALLOWTOPICCHANGE.

I do not see this as opening an old discussion.
The agreed way NewUserTemplate works is fine. If it is blank I agree with Arthur that it should not be hardcoded. That is just confusing.

So we agree that we do not want to lock down a user homepage if the locking down is not set by the TWiki master.
