Some javascript stuff seems to disable pasting into the Wysiwyg editor.
And it is not consistant. Sometimes you can and sometimes you cannot. I cannot find the pattern. But it is like 50/50. Not being able to paste text into the edit window is a huge problem.
I can paste if I change to pickaxe mode.
This we need fixed in 4.2.1

I have noticed that the half the time is more like half the topics.
It seems to be content dependent.

I forgot to say that it is in IE I have the problem. And I do not have a problem pasting into THIS topic. Strange. I will try and characterize further.

Isn't that known to be browser setting dependent?

Hmm. Good hint. Could be the internet zones in IE. Will check at office tomorrow

Yes. Franz is right. In Internet Explorer version 6 I can copy/paste in our Intranet TWiki but I cannot when I edit this bug item.
The reason is that our security setting for IE is setup to under Tools->Internet Options->Security->Internet Zone selected->Custom Level->Scripting->Allow paste operations via script is disabled. On our Intranet zone it is enabled.
What I have done is added develop.twiki.org as a trusted site in which "Allow paste.. via script" is enabled.
IE7 seems to have a different setup that I need to analyse a little more.
So there is no coding error here. I think there may be a small documentation task to be done for 4.2.1. I will try and investigate a little more the facts and experiment a little and do the doc update as required

I have documented the way to enable copy paste in both IE6 and IE7 (there is a slight difference and especially in IE7 it is not obvious to a normal user).
