4.2.1 with Wysiwyg will no longer work with Perl 5.6
The reason is the UTF8 related fixes where we use Encode.
We have TWO options.
- Either we drop 5.6 support. Now Perl 5.10 is a reality and already in several Linux distros, 5.8 is the old one and 5.6 is the very old one.
- Alternatively we add some conditional code to Wysiwyg plugin so it runs in non-UTF8 in perl 5.6.
Looking for community oppinions.
If the decision is to drop 5.6 support I will do the needed doc updates.

Are there any known issues / reasons, why anybody should not upgrade from perl 5.6 to a more recent version?

I have tried if there was a quick fix for 5.6.1 compatibility. But Wysiwyg is so much changed into relying on Encode CPAN lib that there is no easy way to get compatibility.
I think we have to say bye bye 5.6.1 and hello 5.10.0.
I will document this fact in the release notes and stop here. As we walk towards more
I18N support there is no way we can support this with perl 5.6.1.
