I get this for evey web I have.
So i see it in my cron mailbox, one entry like:
********************************
ERROR: Can't send mail, missing 'From:' at /XXXX/lib/TWiki/Net.pm line 300.
********************************
repeated several times. I have no idea what's on. Running current DEVELOP ("Updated to revision 9883.").
in
WebNotify i have entries like:
and in one web i have
as per the docs.
I tried setting the die to warn, and my MTA freaked out (as expected) whining about no FROM being set.

Do you have an email address set for "SomeUser"? What skin are you using? Is the mailnotify template correct? Are you running the correct mail notifier script (the one in
tools
?
CC
i suspect this was probably the old templates problem. Anyway, they wandered off, so I'm discarding it.
CC
no, i'm still here, i just don't check here often enough. ok, to answer you in order:
- e-mail: yes, set in the user's topic
- NatSkin
- AFAIK, it is
- yes i am running the correct one in tools/
- i "fixed" this issue by running with sendmail, and not Net::SMTP (not really a fix, IMO)
changed the state to waiting for feedback because this isn't really fixed, just delayed.
TWiki-4 doesn't use the email in the users topic, it uses the email stored away out of sight in the .htpasswd file (see the upgrade notes for details of moving emails from user topics into the password manager).
- Does SomeUser have an email address set? (third file in the user record in .htpasswd)
- Is the mailnotify template in the
templates
directory the same as the one in the release package?
CC
Eric, This topic was lost from the lists due to not having a codebase field. Rediscovered 3/2/07. Just set it to "No Action" if it is dead.
CC
No feedback, so discarding under 30 day rule.
