Does this site look broken?. Use the LitterTray web for test cases.

When committing SVN 9985 it seems that an important anti-spam config setting from TWiki.cfg was accidently deleted.

In the same SVN new settings were added related to hiding users details from their home topic.

The email padding should not be removed. The new feature does not replace email padding. The padding pads any email address shown in any topic. Not just the users home topic. So it is an important feature. The code is still there and it still works setting the feature.

The SVN checking mail for 9985 never was sent by the SF mailing list. And those of us that have set the feature have a setting in the LocalSite.cfg. So that is why noone have seen the problem. I saw it when testing a virgin 4.0.3 beta.

I will add the missing lines to TWiki.cfg.

It is important that this one is included in 4.0.3!!

I didn't accidentally delete it; I deliberately deleted it.

As I learnt when extracting valid email addresses for t.o users for Peter, the "stick extra stuff in the string" approach to mail address obfuscation is pretty ineffective, especially when the default "STOPSPAM" string is used for every email. So when I was working on the "HideUserDetails" code, I added a better obfuscation scheme, which does not use EmailPadding (it converts all non-alpha chars in the mail address to HTML entitities instead).

EmailPadding still works, but is not required as a configuration option . If it isn't defined, then obfuscation is enabled by {AntiSpam}{HideUserDetails}). I recognise the checkin comments were not very clear on this, mainly due to the multiple checkins I was doing at the time. Apologies for that.

I really don't care; either approach is equally insecure. So I'll put it back in just to stop the argument.

This item should not go into release notes (no change since 4.0.2).
