Does this site look broken?. Use the LitterTray web for test cases.

Peter Thoeny noticed this one yesterday and I can confirm it.

Even with {MapUserToWikiName} OFF and {Register}{AllowLoginName} OFF the registration process still adds a username to TWikiUsers

Should be

I have confirmed that with them both ON you get the correct UserName there instead. Old Cairo users still work.

And new users work when you delete the 2nd parameter.

So something is not quite working in the register script.

What exactly is broken? So you get the Wikiname and the username, and they happen to be the same. What's the problem with that?

Changing priority to Low, until we can establish if anything is actually broken.

I was not sure if a larger bug was luring behind. I have no issue with having priority low. You can even discard it for my sake. But Peter had a concern about what could happen if a site was later changed from no Login name to using Login name. Then "evil Pete" could perhaps abuse this somehow? I cannot imagine this as a problem. Peter should elaborate on this.

I did notice one strange thing.

Today I accidently turned on using login names and I had another browser window open with a completed registration from BEFORE I changed to using login names.

I then clicked back and got the wrong type of registration page where there was no login name field. When I submitted it the registration went OK. When I confirmed it I ended up with an error message (sorry should have captured it).

But the user got registered. And without a login name in the TWikiUsers. It was when I saw that I remembered Peter's concern and filed this bug report.

It may be worth an extra look. I will investigate a little more also. But this is NOT a release blocker at all.

KJL

I went through the logic, and it's really not a problem. in fact it even helps in a wierd way if you switch between enabling/disabling login names.

Discarded.
