A topic rename/delete is very slow on TWiki.org with 50K topics. Here are the numbers in seconds with deleting a topic in the Main web by looking for references in all webs:
|| TWiki 4.0.2
|| TWiki 4.1 beta 3
| Hit "Delete - ref in all webs" in "more" screen
| Hit "Delete" button
For Cairo and Dakar the CPU usage of rename hovers at around 35-46% if there are no other cgi activities.
This slow speed makes rename/delete unusable on a site with 50K or more topics.
I just tried it on a web with 80K topics, and it's suprisingly fast
(<5 seconds) considering it is searching that many topics.
Is this another case where your server is a bit odd? Can you be more specific about what
is taking the time?
I have bo idea what makes Dakar so slow on twiki.org. Try it out be moving a test topic from the Main web to the Sandbox web.
I am quite sure you are right without having to test it myself on t.o, but I can't reproduce it in an environment where I can debug it; so I am dependant on you to do some forensics to narrow it down, please.
Walking through bug items that are waiting for feedback.
This one does not seem to get any attention from reporter. Should we discard it?
I tested this again on same platform using TWiki 4.0.2 and 4.1 beta 3. Much better speed now. Discard OK.
