Edit Form Data

How to reproduce:
  • create a WebTopicEditTemplate
  • edit its preference settings (via more topic actions)
  • add an arbitrary topic setting Set FOO = BAR
  • save it
  • edit another topic in the same web and type in an UnknownWikiWord
  • click on the questionmark to create the topic for the UnknownWikiWord
  • save it
  • check the topic prefernces for Set FOO = BAR ... but it is not there

-- TWiki:Main/MichaelDaum - 11 Jul 2007

Using 'more topic actions' puts the preference setting into meta-data as a META:PREFERENCE. When a new topic is created and templated off the WebTopicEditTemplate, meta-data is not copied into the new topic. This is the way topic templates were designed to work, so I don't see this as a bug.

To change the design, please raise a change request in Codev.

No action.
