Tags to be excluded from the WysiwygPlugin

Tag To Protect Why Exclude Key
<section> used by the MultiEditPlugin, but corrupted by Wysiwyg. section
<table> some users need this to get better formatting. Wysiwyg deletes the syntax. table
<pre> used for monospace with colours (rare). Wysiwyg maps to verbatim (no colours). pre

I don't understand this. You don't say what "corrupted" means. Perhaps MultiEditPlugin is too stupid to correctly interpret HTML tags? Does it assume start of line?

Wysiwyg converts tables back to TML as long as it can; that's the spec, convert to/from TML. Leaving tables in HTML makes them uneditable unless you use WYSIWYG exclsuively.

pre is not mapped to verbatim, only verbatim is mapped to verbatim.

If you can provide examples (use the LitterTray web here) then I can investigate; until then....

Hi Crawford. Here's an example of the MultIEditPlugin issue, which uses the tags <:section> and </section> to split a topic up. Ignore the verbatim tags - they are just to make it easier to read in this topic.

Before WYSIWYG editing:

<section>
Type your stuff here...
</section>

After WYSIWYG editing (I added the text 'OK' just to change something):

<section _moz-userdefined="">
Type your stuff here...</section>

<section _moz-userdefined="">OK.
</section>

You can see this is wrong.

I take your point on the html tables being out of spec for this plugin. I will double check the <pre> tags issue and get back to you.

Thanks, Steve.

Ok, my mistake. These issues (except for html, which is out of spec) are fixed in the latest Wysiwyg plugin. Sorry for any wasted time - I'll make sure to check I am up to date next time.
