Testcase:
- bin/LocalLib.cfg is set up correctly
- lib/LocalSite.cfg does not exist yet
- you use SpeedyCGI as an alternative perl interpreter (may apply to mod_perl aswell; not tested yet)
- you use either Mozilla or Firefox as webbrowser (IE works fine, others not tested)
You call configure for the first time. Apply some changes. Press "Next" to save the config. You enter a new password (to protect the config) and press "Set Password and Save Changes". The browsers starts loading, finishes but remain on that page. No
LocalSite.cfg is written.
I tested it on two different systems (both apache 1.3.33, both speedy 2.22): in addition on one system apache error.log says:
(32)Broken pipe: client stopped connection before send body completed
.
Thanks for the excellent report, Oliver.
I suspect this is due to globals being retained over successive runs of the same code. As such it is likely to bite mod_perl as well.

I have to correct myself: The behaviour occurs not only on first-time-usage, but on all calls of
bin/configure
.

I followed all the recommendations for good speedy practice, and also made it paranoid about cahceing. See if that helps. SVN 6651
Please re-open if it still doesn't work for you.

Looks good now.
