When you first install and go to Main.TWikiPreferences to set a preference, you are confronted with a button that claims to let you edit preferences. Click on it and nothing useful happens - try it!
You have to manually edit the topic to add
This is a major problem for new users IMHO.

Erm - I noticed that when installing the beta, clicked the button, went back, slightly startled. But then I read the text after the button:
| Quick edit of existing preferences (edit the topic text to set new preferences) |
So, while I agree that it is a nuisance, I'd still call it a nuisance that can be lived with. "Normal" should be good enough for this sort of bugs.
I think a whole new feature is needed to address this very generic issue.
I think someone should think an idea and raise it as a feature request.
I am no actioning this because the real bugs drown if we keep these sort of idea bugs open.
I do share the view that the copying of preferences from TWiki. to Main. TWikiPreferences
is confusing and I am sure most edit the TWiki. version which works but is a pain once you have to upgrade. But it will take more than a few bug fixing code lines to fix it. And first we need an idea and spec on Codev before we can get back here and raise a bug item to resolve it.
