This line is in the way when defining custom views. Please advise on how to avoid it when needed. See for example TWikiGuest. After the tool bar there are two horizontal lines: the first is generated by the tool bar template, the second is a mystery.

In style.css, this part draws the line:
.patternViewPage .twikiAttachments,
.patternViewPage .twikiForm,
.patternPreviewPage .twikiAttachments,
.patternPreviewPage .twikiForm {
   background-color:#FEFBF4; /*C22*/
   padding:20px;
   border-top:1px solid #E2DCC8; /* HERE <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< */
   margin-top:0;
   margin-bottom:0em;
}
This line is perfectly clear when there is topic content above. If you want to avoid it you could put the form inside a twikiXxx tag, and let pattern skin's style.css remove the border. -- AC
Thanks. Take a look at this very topic. You will see two horizontal lines. One should not be there, I think. --TW

Also, I dont know what you mean by twikiXxx tag.

The top horizontal line of the form should be there. Normally the form is at the bottom of the topic, and the line shows the transition.

If you would like to don't show the line (and perhaps background color) on a user page, a container should be put around the form on the user page. For instance: twikiUserDataForm. This classname should start with twiki (not pattern) so that other skins can make styles for this, not just pattern skin.

But I don't know if this is possible, to put a container around

<div class="twikiForm">
if there is a user form on the page.

Perhaps it's simpler to add a bottom line, so that it looks like a block. -- AC

It does not look right to have two horizontal lines right after each other. In particular, the form already has a boundary around it (it is in a box). There is no reason to further delineate the form from the topic text.

We need to make the form independent of where it is and whether text is there or not. The form may be the only thing on the page (if the text area is omitted, such as in the Bugs web), it may be above the text arera (such as in the user topics), or below the topic actions (if somebody creates a custom topic view in that manner).

The form cannot willy-nilly insert separators that might not be needed. -- TW

OK, I have the solution. In view.pattern.tmpl I have put another div (patternContent) around the TEXT, FORM and ATTACHMENTS. If the form is placed outside patternContent it does not get the default styling with borders and background color. SVN 6605. Check TWikiGuest. -- AC
