one note here - the Jump box is one of the first things some people remove, bothe because it stops them from having a simple banner image, and because some of us don't like it. I can't think of a better solution though - so it really needs to be done in such a way that the admin can easeily move it to a place thats suitable for their look and feel -- SD
Maybe the jump box should be in the left bar (see Wikipedia).
In fact we need to revist the idea of a combined jump/search box. See
TWiki:Codev.GoIsSearch
,
TWiki:Codev.TooUglyForNonTechnicalUsers
and others
- While that is true, the language button should still be somewhere at the top. Some TWiki sites are on the internet and attract casual visitors, so they would never guess that they can select an interface language. -- AC
- but that's just it, isn't it? it's only for the interface, not for the topic text, and more importantly, it should default to the right language anyway. therefore, i think it can/should go much lower. actually, i don't think it really needs to be on the WebLeftBar anyway, but i don't see any time to engineer a new way for this release. -- WN

I replaced the jump box with a drop down and use tabs to navigate webs, ordered in a hierarchy.
- The dropdown is possible if you have small webs (not more than 20 topics). The tabs are possible if you know the number of webs (not more than 7 to 9). -- AC
- I've implemented the web chooser at the top (under the personalised part) or the web left bar, but with a twisty. Its normally hidden. -- AJA
