There are a lot of improper translations to Japanese in locale/ja.po, which reduce usefulness of the Japanese locale to a great degree. A Japanese speaker cannot help but cringe at that. There are no one to one correspondences between English and Japanese words - English word EW1 corresponds to Japanese word JW1 in one context but to Japanese word JW2 in another context. The current ja.po has a lot of translations ignoring contexts. And there are some "Google Translate" quality and comical translations as well.

Thanks for working on this. I set this to "closed". Although important to be fixed, it should be standard practice to keep translations up to date, hence not list in the release notes.
