Visit
PatternSkinCssCookbookCenterPage and reduce the window width.
The topbar will adjust to the main window's width to be centered but not so
the rest of the page when a certain maximal width is reached. From that
point on the topbar keeps shrinking but not so the content area. I suspect
that this behavior was introduced since the vertical scroll issue in
Item1233.
The fix in
Item1233 may also have consequences on a
PatternSkin
modification with a sidebar on the right, that is wide content will push away the
sidebar, which I would avoid.
Any suggestions?

I have no suggestion how to fix this.
IMO, this is a "nice to have fix", I do not consider this a release blocker. I suggest to degraded this to "Normal".

I agree with Peter. Before 1233 we had a real userability issue with the standard Patternskin. You often could not see content and no way to scroll sideways. You had to copy/paste the text into an editor or hit the raw view button.
If people want to customize the skin they will have to fix the style sheet/templates themselves OR wait.
Every time the Patternskin is touched we get 5 new bug reports so I would not wake the sleeping dog now one week before release. I would defere this to 4.0.1 which we agreed to release 1-2 months after 4.0

Just tried the center page.
The problem occurs when you make the window so narrow that the top menu gets hidden and the right side cut off. This is max an annoyance and for sure not a release blocker. With the danger of having my hands slapped I changed the priority to low.

This automatically gets closed once

Item1634 is merged in.
I am therefore tagging it as patch since we get it for "free".
